Rules of Editorial Committee of the Agricultural Economics Society of Japan

Article 1
Pursuant to the provision of Article 10 of the Regulations of the Agricultural Economics Society of Japan , these Rules shall be stipulated for the purpose of editing the Journal of Rural Economics (“Nogyo Keizai Kenkyu”), the Special Issue of the Journal of Rural Economics (“Nihon Nogyo Keizai Gakkai Ronbunshu”) and the “Japanese Journal of Rural Economics” (hereinafter referred to as the “Journals”).
Article 2
The editing work of the Journals shall be taken charge of by the editorial committee constituted by the representative editor elected by the Board of Directors, standing director in charge of journals and several committee members, as well as by an editorial committee member in charge of English journals. The chairperson of the editorial committee shall be the standing director in charge of journals. The term of office of the committee members shall be two years.
Article 3
The editorial committee shall in principle be convened once a month by the chairperson, and shall be presided over by the chairperson. The English editorial committee shall be convened on an as-needed basis and shall be presided over by the chairperson of the English editorial committee.
Article 4
The editorial committee and the English editorial committee shall discuss and determine the following matters. The decision shall in principle be affirmed by the majority of the attendees.

  1. matters related to editing policies, contents and formats of the Journals;
  2. matters related to adoption and rejection of unsolicited manuscripts;
  3. matters related to publication of Journals;
  4. matters related to recommendation for candidates of members of the editorial committee ;
  5. drafting of the Rules of Editorial Committee and Notes to Contributors; and
  6. any other matters related to editing of the Journals.
Article 5
The editorial committee and the English editorial committee may, with an approval from the Board of Directors, outsource a part of its business affairs to an institution such as the Center for Academic Publications Japan.
Article 6
The Journals shall be published in accordance with the following:

  1. The Journal of Rural Economics (“Nogyo Keizai Kenkyu”) shall in principle be published four times a year, on March 25, June 25, September 25, and December, 25
  2. The Special Issue of the Journal of Rural Economics (“Nihon Nogyo Keizai Gakkai Ronbunshu”) shall in principle be published once a year, on December 25
  3. The Japanese Journal of Rural Economics shall in principle be published once a year, on March 25.
Article 7
These Rules may be modified with approval from the Board of Directors, and shall be reported to the general meeting.
Supplementary Provision
These Rules shall be forced as from April 1, 2010.
